Nadan Kozhi Thoran/ Kerala Stir Fried Chicken With Coconut

Chicken have been my all time favorite since a child, every time I see a chicken dish I get so excited and want to try A.S.A.P. I got this recipe from Kothiyavunu.com yesterday, my mom makes similar dish with fish usually but she doesn't add coconut to it. I have altered a little on the ingredients, please pardon me for that Sangeetha.

Okay let's get to the recipe now,

Ingredients:

1/4kg boneless chicken (cut into small pieces)
2 cups shallots (crushed coarsely)
2 onions sliced thinly
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
3 pods of garlic diced
4 green chilies slit
2 sprigs curry leaves
1/2 cup of grated coconut
2 tsp dry chili powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp black pepper powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 tbsp oil
Salt to taste

Pour oil in a wok, add mustard seeds and let it splutter, then add shallots that have been coarsely crushed and saute till golden. Now add ginger garlic paste, green chilies, diced garlic, sliced onions
curry leaves and saute for a minute.

Then add cleaned chicken and let it cook covered until its almost cooked, add turmeric powder, garam masala, red chili powder, salt, black pepper powder and mix well and continue cooking for 5 minutes. When the mixtures almost dries add in grated coconut and cook until it attains dark brown color.

Add a little more oil if needed and mixture dries up completely. Tasty and spicy chicken stir fry is ready to be served. Best eaten with white rice, you will definitely wont stop at first serving.

Thank you for the recipe Kothiyavunu.com, love this dish so much. You all should definitely try this recipe and leave me a comment.

I'm sending this recipe to Akila's Kitchen
