Banana and Cheese Sandwich

I didn't want to have anything heavy for lunch and was late for breakfast, while planning for a quick meal I thought of having a simple breakfast for lunch. I had lots of cheese in my pantry, so to whip up a quick meal I made Banana and Cheese Sandwich. This is a very simple sandwich and I'm sure kids will definitely love it. Now let's see how to make this simple sandwich;

Ingredients:

4 slices of bread
1 large banana (sliced)
4 slices of cheese

Toast both sides of the bread upon your preference, I love if its slightly charred ( I have used skillet to toast the bread). Now place one slice of cheese on each bread, let the bread sit on low flame. Arrange slices of banana on two slices bread and top it with the other slice of bread with cheese only. Cover the sandwich so that the heat will melt the cheese. Now our Banana and Cheese Sandwich is ready to be served.

Do try and let me know how it turned out for you!

Strawberry Milk Toast

Thinking about what to prepare for breakfast always gives me a tough time, I need something healthy and easy to make before I leave to work. I love omelette toast very much but I don't like it sweet either, when I opened my fridge door I saw Strawberry Milk that my husband bought then got an idea. While thinking what else to add I thought cinnamon powder and strawberry milk will get along well, so I decided to make Strawberry Milk Toast with cheese slices.

This is a very easy to do recipe for any time of the day, even kids would definitely love it. Now let me bring you to the recipe and how I made this.

Ingredients;
4 sliced of bread
2 eggs (beaten)
1 tsp of butter
5 tbsp of strawberry milk
A pinch of cinnamon powder
A pinch of salt

Lightly beat the eggs

Add in the strawberry milk

Add butter, cinnamon powder and salt

Dip one slice of bread to the egg mixture

Soak both the side of the bread in the egg mixture

Now toast the bread on a hot pan

I prefer both the sides of the bread to brown well

I have added a slice of cheese on the bread slice and top with
another hot slice making it a sandwich

Now our Strawberry Milk Toast is ready to be served, you can add sugar
if you are serving for kiddos, they would definitely love it.

Do try and let me know how it turned out!

Egg Sandwich

My friend Rina and other colleagues planned for a potluck lunch today, we had Chicken Varuval, Sothy, Chutney, Idiappam, Brandy Prune Cake, Egg Sandwich and Vanilla Ice Cream. Rina brought Chicken Varuval and it tasted so delicious, I had two helpings of it since I was on protein diet. I will get the recipe from her and try it one day.

Now coming to what I made, Brandy Prune Cake and Egg Sandwich. I know you might be thinking why I made cake and sandwich for lunch, simply because I don't really adhere to rules, do I? Actually lunch was stretched to Tea....so cake and sandwich was for tea, now let us look at the recipe;

Ingredients:

Few slices of bread
3 hard boiled eggs
3 tbsp of mayonnaise
A pinch of pepper
A pinch of salt
Butter to spread on the bread

Cut off all the brown edges of the bread

Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of the bread

In a bowl mash the boiled egg with mayo, salt and pepper and spread the filling
on the bread, I have cut the bread into two and spread the filling,
you can even cut into triangle or any other shape that you prefer.

Now our egg sandwich is ready to be served

Do try and let me know how it turned out!

Bread Omelette

I only make breakfast during weekends and holidays, other days no one has time to have breakfast at home. The easiest recipe anyone could make is bread omelette or in Malaysia its called Bombay toast, where you just have to whisk egg with some milk and butter and some do add sugar. Usually I don't add sugar but have my toast with chili sauce.

But few days ago while BW I saw bread omelette at Tasty Appetite and I thought I must try this recipe immediately so I made for breakfast today. Thank you Tasty Appetite for the recipe.

Toast both sides of bread, I have used bran and wheatgerm bread

In a bowl mix 3 eggs, diced onions, diced red chili, turmeric powder,
chili powder and coriander leaves with 3 tbsp of milk and pour in a frying pan.

Put the toasted bread on the egg mixture and flip to other side and
let it cook for few minutes.

Bread Omelette is ready to serve best eaten with chili sauce or just like that.
